Michael O'Leary says forced diversion of flight was "state sponsored hijacking"

Ryanair’s chief executive has described the forced diversion of a flight from Greece to Minsk last month as "a state-sponsored hijacking."

Michael O’Leary's been giving evidence to British MPs about the incident, which led to the detention of Belarusian opposition journalist Roman Protasevich.

He said a Ryanair aircraft was brought down "under false pretences" and "this was clearly a premeditated breach of all the international aviation rules."
