Midleton hit with flooding overnight
Parts of Midleton were hit with flooding last night. Gardai and the fire service are reporting this morning that sudden heavy downpours resulted in flooding between 1.00 - 2.00 am. The town's Main Street and the Ballinacurra area were badly hit while the East-bound bore of the dual carriageway between Midleton and Carrigtwohill was impassable. The areas are now cleared and all roads are open again to traffic. AA Roadwatch is urging motorists to take care this morning as there is a lot of surface water around the city and county after between 25-35mm of rain fell overnight: (Click above for audio)
