Midleton school among four others evacuated after bomb scare

Pupils evacuated from schools as a precautionary measure at Midleton, Limerick, Waterford and Dublin.

A school in Whitegate in East Cork was among three other schools in Ireland evacuated after a series of bomb scares this morning.

It's understood schools in Limerick, Waterford and Dublin were also evacuated and locked down after suspect devices were reported on the premises. 

Garda press have confirmed to RedFM News that the situation in Whitegate has now been resolved.

Elsewhere twenty gardaí were deployed to Milford National School in Co. Limerick to carry out a search along with three units of Limerick City and County Fire and Rescue Service however the school has been deemed safe.

In Waterford St. Angela's secondary and primary school in Ballytruckle was also evacuated due to similar reports. It has since been declared safe and  secondary school pupils have returned to class however primary pupils have been sent home.

In Dublin it's been reported that a call about a device was made to Scoil Colmcille in Donaghmede. The school was evacuated however Garda Press confirmed to RedFM News that this was as hoax call. 

Meanwhile authorities are trying to establish if there's a possible link to threatening calls at seven other schools in the North which were reportedly made from an automated system.
