Minister announces new legislation to protect tenants

The Government is introducing new legislation to protect tenants against eviction when their development is sold
The Housing Minister Simon Coveney says he expects the new legislation to become enacted in the next fortnight
Under this new legislation tenants who would have faced eviction if their development was being sold will now be protected as the sale of a property can no longer be grounds for termination of a tenancy in properties with 20 units or more.
Recent CSO figures have shown that there are over 5,000 vulture fund owned homes in Cork, most of those are apartment complexes that have been sold on by the property owner.
Speaking to RedFM news Minister Coveney says this will protect tenants from eviction and increases to their rent:
