Minister for Social Protection can't guarantee the protection of data from hackers
Regina Doherty was responding to concerns over the collection of the data for the Public Services Card
It comes following a backlash against the plans to force the card's use from opposition parties.
And Regina Doherty says it wouldn't be honest of her to guarantee the data won't be leaked.
