Minister visits Cork towns following floods

Minister of State Simon Harris met with local representatives and communities affected by flooding.
Minister of State Simon Harris says that flood relief schemes for Bandon and Skibbereen are on track.
The comments come as Minister Harris visited both towns today to see firsthand the damage caused by Storm Desmond.
The flood relief scheme for Skibbereen is expected to be confirmed in early January and have a contractor confirmed by May.
Meanwhile, up to 1500 people marched through Bandon last week calling on the Government to deliver the long awaited flood relief scheme immediately.
It was one of the towns worse hit by the storm resulting in over 30 properties suffering damage.
Speaking to RedFM News, Minister Harris says no further delays are expected in the progress of the Bandon scheme.
