Monkey on the loose after escaping from Fota Wildlife Park has been recaptured

The 8 year old black and white colobus with a fitting name of Cheeky Chops had been on the run since Tuesday when he broke out of his enclosure

Animal rangers of Fota Wildlife Park captured the monkey this afternoon after a lenghty rescue operation after coaxing it with it's favourite treats of boiled potatoes and avocados.

Cheeky Chops has been safely reunited with three other monkeys in it's enclosure who welcomed him with back with lots of grooming.

Fota Wildlife Park are reassuring the monkey was not in danger and posed no threat to members of the public.
