Mother of baby born with rare disease hits out at restrictions around access to medicinal cannabis

Noreen O' Neill, a teacher from Co Kerry, says she had to move to Cork in order to access medical care for her 20 month old son Michael.

Michael suffers from a rare disease which causes him to suffer up to 20 seizures a day.

Noreen says Michael has been almost seizure free since starting CBD oil treatment in January but says he may need to be treated with THC, which requires a licence from the Department of Health.

Speaking to RedFM News, Noreen O' Neill says families already have a heavy cross to bear without the Health Minister blocking access to treatment.
