Motorists Advised To Slow Down After Sub-Zero Temperatures Cause Multiple Incidents On Roads
Sub-zero temperatures have brought more snow and ice to parts of the country overnight.
A status yellow warning remains in place until midday.
Scattered snow showers and ice could lead to slippery paths and roads with motorists advised to take extra care.
Here in Cork gardaí in Anglesea have appealed to motorists to SLOW DOWN!!
There's black ice reported right across the city.
Those leaving housing estates are advised to take extreme care as there are reports of scattered black ice on many estates in the city.
Blarney is reportedly very dangerous especialy Weir side in Blarney. There are four seperate road traffic incidents there.
Elsewhere in the county gardaí say extreme care is advised on all secondary routes in particular those around Macroom
In West Cork Bandon and Innishannon are very badly effected by ice. Gardaí there say they're not dealing with any road traffic incidents in the area at the moment but the roads are very icy and motorists need to take care and slow down
Gardaí in Fermoy say the N73 Mallow - Mitchelstown Road is very icy - motorists are advised to take extreme care.
