Motorists Claiming Unfair Clamping Can Take Advantage Of Vehicle Clamping Act From Today

Motorists who feel their car has been clamped unfairly will have recourse to the Vehicle Clamping Act which takes effect today.
The legislation provides for an appeals process for people to complain about clamping, relocation of cars, or the charges imposed.
The bill will set a maximum clamp release fee and ensure that appropriate signage is in place where clamping is in operation.
Members of the public are invited to send submissions on the draft regulations related to clamping, as part of a public consultation process.
