Motorists urged to take caution amid Saint Patricks Day Festival

The Road Safety Authority have warned March is the second most dangerous month of the year for alcohol related incidents

Motorists are being reminded this bank holiday weekend that any amount of alcohol can impair driving.

The Road Safety Authority and An Garda Síochána have issued the warning as recent figures show that March accounts for 11% of alcohol related collisions and is the second most dangerous month of the year for alcohol related incidents.

However the RSA say they're hoping for a repeat performance of this time last year as there were no fatalties on the roads over the St Patrick's festival period.
