Musicians Wanting To Stay In Entertainment Industry Consider Gigs Overseas As Other Countries Loosen Restrictions

That's according to musician and owner of the Cork based band J90, Ed McCarthy
The Music & Entertainment Association of Ireland say that live entertainment has been largely closed for nearly 500 days.
The MEAI claims that out of the €50m support package announced nine months ago by the government, only €1m has been spent.
Speaking to RedFM News, Ed McCarthy of J90 says that for entertainers making the decision to travel abroad for work is also risky:
"I've gotten a lot more inquiries from the UK and Europe in the last few months than I ever had. It does make you think, do we have to maybe move for a while. Do we, maybe, have to go where the work is until there is something established back here in Ireland? So, it's a very hard one to judge. But if you leave Ireland, you don't know about getting back into the country again. There's so much uncertainty in travel, so it's very hard to call."
