National Ploughing Championships To Kick Off Today

The 85th annual National Ploughing Championships is taking place in Co. Offaly over the next three days.
Up to 300,000 are expected to attend the event in Screggan near Tullamore.
1,500 exhibitors are taking part in the event which runs from today until Thursday - gates open at 9 o'clock.
Motorists are being urged to obey stewards and the Garda traffic management plan, and to not use a Sat Nav when approaching the site.
Inspector John Lawless, has this message for those travelling on the M8 from the Cork and Munster areas:
