National Slow Down Day Sees Extra Garda Checkpoints Implemented

A 1% reduction in average speed will bring about a 4% reduction in fatal collisions.
That's the message from gardaí today who are mounting additional checkpoints across the city and county to coincide with National Slow Down Day.
Gardaí say there has been a marked increase in road deaths so far this year with 17 of those fatalities on Cork roads.
Speaking to RedFM News Sgt Peter Murphy of Angelsea St garda station says a reduction in speed can save lives:
