Netflix refuses to delete interview with Ian Bailey
Netflix is refusing to delete an interview with Ian Bailey which is part of a documentary released today into the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier.
The French woman was killed outside her home near Schull in West Cork in 1996, however nobody has ever been charged in Ireland for the crime.
Ian Bailey was convicted in his absense of her murder by a French court in 2019 - the High Court here has refused his extradition.
A number of documentaries into her killing have been released in the past few years, which Ian Bailey took part in.
However, he says the makers of this Netflix show didn't get every release form signed.
"I rather reluctantly agreed to talk to them, I pointed out the fact that I was contractually obliged to Jim Sheridan.
"The point about this was that I was never going to cooperate fully with a Netflix production, which I didn't, so I gave a brief interview.
"I signed a release form, and there was another second release form that had to be signed by the land owner of where the interview was conducted, my former partner Jules Thomas - and she refused to sign it."
