New Family centre opens in Togher

Two thirds of Cork families in Togher are at risk of poverty.
Thats according to a report published by the newly opened Togher Family Centre, which shows that familes living in the area are the new working poor.
The report in today's Evening Echo highlights the Southside suburb as a highly disadvantaged area, with a range of social issues that are being ignored because of it's location.
Togher falls on the boundary between to local authorities and lack of affordable childcare, low income employment and insecure housing were all highlighted as issues facing residents in the area.
Speaking to RedFM News Niamh Sheridan manager at the Family Centre says the families are suffering because the area crosses county bounds:
