New Figures Show Nearly 400 Adults And Children Are Homeless in Cork

Cork Simon says un-affordable rents and lack of rent control measures continue to push families into homelessness
The number of Children in Emergency Accommodation in Cork has risen by 38%.
Thats according to a report released by the Department of Housing showing 106 children and 269 adults are now homeless Leeside.
Despite the Governments "Rebuilding Ireland" Action plan to tackle the lack of housing, Cork Simon says unaffordable rents and lack of rent control measures in many parts of the city, continue to push families into homelessness.
Nationwide, over 7,000 people are in emergency accommodation - including 2,400 children.
Speaking to RedFM News Paul Sheehan from Cork Simon says houses are not coming on stream quickly enough:
