New Lord Mayor Of City Says Businesses Need As Much Support As Possible Following Pandemic

Cllr Colm Kelleher was elected to the role a week ago and says he will use his time as Lord Mayor to promote Cork business

Cllr Kelleher's first official act was a visit to the English Market in the City to meet with traders and shoppers.

Speaking to RedFM News, the Lord Mayor says Cork's recovery depends will depend on support for business:

"We need to incentivise indigenous businesses. Not only that, we've multinationals we need to take care of here, as well. Combine those two together, I feel that, if they're incentivised, both at a local level and on a national level, through monetary grant aids, through funds, through whatever support we can offer. We as a city, we as a county, and we as a nation, can rebound and revitalise our economy. Because once that happens, we can drive on from that."
