New Planning Application May Need To Be Submitted For Cork Events Centre

It's emerged that a fresh planning application may have to be submitted for Cork's Events Centre after City Councillors were told that a bigger venue needs to be built.
BAM contractors outlined to the City Council on Monday night that in order for the Events Centre to work, promoters Live Nation need it to be scaled up.
The promoters say the Events Centre needs to be bigger in order to make it commercially viable and an extra €12 million in public funding is needed to ensure the project gets started in September.
The Irish Examiner reports that this change may lead to the larger venue requiring planning permission.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM the City Council's Chief Executive Ann Doherty outlined the next steps in the process.
