New rights for Unmarried Fathers
New Laws for unmarried fathers have been brought into legislation for the first time in the state.
New laws are set to automatically allow unmarried fathers become guardians of their children if they meet a cohabitation requirement for the first time in the history of the state.
It's one of the changes made to the Children and Family Relationship Act in a bid to recognise diversity and according to the Justice Minister the changes are crucial for a child to maintain meaningful relationships with both parents.
