New Study Finds Increase In Minimum Wage Didn't Lead To Unemployment
The increase in the national minimum wage didn't lead to more unemployment among low paid workers.
That's the finding of a new study published by the ESRI and the Low Pay Commission today.
The Small Firms Association has been critical of recent raises to the minimum wage.
It says the increase in January to €9.55 an hour is a 'barrier to job creation'.
Spokesman Sven Spollen-Behrens thinks it should be left up to individual firms to decide what they pay:
