New Submission For Cork 2050 Aims For Future Growth

Cork must put its "best foot forward" to maximise future growth across the city and county.
That's according to the County Mayor Cllr Declan Hurley who said the Cork 2050 joint submission to the National Planning Framework from both councils, was prepared with the "whole of Cork" in mind.
Earlier this year a blueprint given to the Government forecasted the population of Cork will reach 850,000 across the city and county by 2050 and warned significant infrastructure investment will be needed to support this.
The plan also highlights Cork as a complementary location to Dublin as an international driver of growth in the Southern Region.
Speaking to RedFM News County Mayor Cllr Delcan Hurley says the capital is no longer capable of sustaining a growing population and the Cork 2050 plan aims to alleviate this:
