Nicola Collins Funeral Details Released
Funeral details have been released for Cork murder victim Nicola Collins who is to be laid to rest in her native Tralee tomorrow following a funeral mass as gardai continue to prepare a file on her killing.
The 38-year-old, who lived in Togher, will be buried at Rath Cemetery in Tralee after requiem mass at 11am.
The mother of three was found with serious head injuries when the emergency services were called to a flat on Pophams Road in Farranree in the early hours of Monday March 27th.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination confirmed Nicola Collins died a violent death.
Gardai had arrested a 42-year-old man from Charleville at the murder scene and he was held overnight at Mayfield Garda station before being released without charge the following day.
A 44-year-old in Limerick city was also arrested on suspicion of withholding information about the killing and he was also questioned at Mayfield Garda Station before being released without charge.
A witness appeal was issued in the wake of the incident and anyone with any information was asked to contact Mayfield Garda Station on 021-4558510
A garda spokesman confirmed that gardai are preparing a file on the murder.
