Business Owners Hit Out At Irish Water Over Burst Water Pipe
"A failure all round"
That's how yesterday's water outage has been described by city centre traders who have just learned that they won't be receiving compensation from Irish Water.
In a statement released to RedFM News in the past hour Irish Water say discounts or refunds are only provided if water is not safe for more than 24 hours as dictated by their governing body, the commission of energy regulation.
Irish Water say once the burst mains was identified crews began work immediately and water was restored to all areas within 12 hours.
Speaking to RedFM News Head Chef and owner of Fenn's Quay restaurant Kate Lawlor says she's disappointed that Irish Water aren't stepping up and taking responsibility as even though the water came back on for them shortly after 3pm it wasn't usable for the rest of the day:
