No plans for pre-clearance facilities at Cork Airport

A multi million euro investment would be needed at Cork Airport to facilitate pre-clearance to the US.
Dublin and Shannon currently have pre-clearance facilities for passengers, on their long established flights operated by Aer Lingus, but there are no immediate plans for such a facility at Cork Airport.
Last month the first transatlantic service from Cork to Boston providence was announced by Norwegian air, with over 2,000 tickets purchased within the first week of the launch.
The low cost airline say they are also hoping to operate a service from Cork to New York in the future.
Speaking to RedFM News Communications Manager at Cork Airport Kevin Cullinane says pre-clearance facilities are not yet necessary as passengers will be flying into regional airports in the US:
