Norwegian Air To Discontinue All Their Transatlantic Routes From Ireland In September

All six routes from Cork, Dublin and Shannon to the US and Canada will be cancelled from September 15th next
In a statement issued to RedFM News the airline says after a comprehensive review they have concluded that the routes, which include their flights out of Cork, are no longer commercially viable
Norwegian Air said the review followed the global grounding of the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft - which the airline had been using on the routes out of Cork, Dublin and Shannon - and the continued uncertainty of its return to service,
All six routes from Cork, Dublin and Shannon to the US and Canada will be cancelled from September 15th next
The airline says they are assisting customers by ensuring they can still get to their destination by rerouting them onto other Norwegian services however customers who no longer wish to travel will be offered a full refund
In a statement, management at Cork Airport say they're disappointed with the news and will now redouble their efforts to secure a new Transatlantic carrier for Cork to operate from Summer 2021, the airport has also confirmed that they are in active discussions with a number of carriers in that regard
