Numerous Appeals Made For People Throughout Cork City And county To Celebrate Bonfire Night Safely

Tonight is Saint John's Eve, better known as Bonfire Night

Events, which are usually held by the City Council, to mark the event are not going ahead due to Covid restrictions.

Cork North Central TD, Thomas Gould, has urged people, who are lighting bonfires tonight, to light them responsibly, to remain vigilant and  to enjoy the occasion safely.

Earlier today, the Cork City Fire Bridage was called to Bishopstown to extinguish a large bonfire.

While, crews also had to deal with several bonfires yesterday evening and overnight.
