Nurses at Cork University Hospital to be balloted on industrial action

The INMO say it follows ongoing inadequate nurse staffing levels on the GB Radiotherapy Ward

Nurses in the GB Radiotherapy Ward at Cork University Hospital are to be balloted on industrial action.

The INMO say the decision has been taken due to ongoing inadequate and unsafe nurse staffing levels on the ward.

The union claim management have failed to adjust staff levels to correspond with the addition of 6 extra beds on the ward.

Concerns for patient safety have been outlined to management however nurses say they're still awaiting a response to this and requests for meetings.

The INMO say they remain available to meet with management in an effort to resolve this issue.
