Nurses Back On The Picket Lines at Hospitals Across Cork In Their Strike Over Pay And Conditions

The strike action is leading to a deepening of the trolley crisis at Cork University Hospital
A nurse on the picket line at Cork University Hospital says many of her colleagues dread going to work
Mary Rea qualified as a nurse in 1983 and has been working in a medical ward at Cork University Hospital for the past ten years.
She says nurses are under far more pressure now than when she first started due to more complex cases, the sheer number of patients and a lack of front line staff.
Speaking to RedFM News outside CUH Mary Rea says nurses are fighting for the future of their profession
Dr Conor Deasy is an Emergency Medicine consultant at Cork University Hospital and in the past few minutes he outlined to RedFM News the impact the strike action is having on the ED at CUH and how it's leading to a deepening of the trolley crisis
