Objections to Norwegian Air Operating a Cork/Boston Route Continue

A US Congressman has intensified his efforts to block an attempt to get transatlantic flights from Cork Airport off the ground.

Peter DeFazio has written to the European Commission outlining his objections to Norwegian Air operating a Cork/Boston route.

He claims that Ireland is being used as a "flag of convenience" to allow Norwegian Air sidestep labour laws and hire low paid crew and pilots under Asian contracts The airline has refuted the claims saying its pilots and crew will be employed under the labour laws of the country in which they are based

Speaking to RedFM News Niall McCarthy Managing Director at Cork Airport says he remains positive that the airlink will go ahead despite the opposition
