Oncology Nurses in CUH to commence work to rule

Oncology nurses at Cork University Hospital involved in a dispute over staffing levels are set to engage in a work to rule action from 8 o'clock this morning.
As part of the action INMO members on the Oncology /Radiotherapy ward will withdraw from clerical and support duties and will only provide direct nursing care to patients.
The INMO say staffing levels are inadequate and unsafe and although discussions were ongoing yesterday, the union claims hospital management didn't offer a timeline in which to increase staffing levels, and as a result 26 staff members from the ward will now engage in a work to rule action today.
Speaking to RedFM News INMO representative Mary Rose Carroll says nurses have been left with no option but patients won't be affected by their industrial action:
