One critical after East Cork caravan fire

It's believed the fire which broke out at the caravan at Knockgriffin may have started when the occupants were frying sausages late at night.
Gardaí have launched an investigation after a caravan fire in East Cork left one man in a critical condition in hospital.
It's believed the fire which broke out at the caravan at Knockgriffin outside Midleton at around 4 o'clock on Sunday morning may have started when the occupants were frying sausages late at night.
One man was taken to Cork University Hospital suffering from serious smoke inhalation and he remains in a critical condition in hospital - he was rescued by his brother who also braved the flames to retrieve a second man in the caravan who was discharged yesterday.
Gardaí have interviewed the man who was discharged and they're exploring whether a paraffin heater being used in the caravan contributed to the blaze.
The fire was brought under control by Cork County Fire Brigade and Midleton Fire Brigade, gardaí also attended the scene and took samples of debris for analysis.
