One In Ten Irish Children Living In Consistent Poverty

One in ten Irish children is living in consistent poverty, according to Barnardos.

The charity's launching a major recruitment drive in Cork today because it's in urgent need of volunteers.

Last year the organisation helped nearly 18,000 families and children who were in poverty.

But Barnardos' Mary Gamble says the charity regularly has to turn more people away because of a lack of resources.
