One in two people will be diagnosed with Cancer by 2020

The news comes as the Irish Cancer Society this week have launched a cancer prevention action plan in Cork

By 2020 one in two people will be diagnosed with cancer.

That's according to the Irish Cancer Society who this week launched an action plan in Cork focused on prevention and early detection. 

The new cancer prevention action plan aims to provide a community based approach to dealing with cancer in Cork by improving information provision and implementing specific programmes.

Speaking to RedFM News Eimear Cotter of the Irish Cancer Society says there are ways to prevent the disease.
