One Of Ireland's Largest Environmental Clean Up Operations Is Being Marked At Haulbowline Island Today

The toxic dump has been transformed into a public park
The site of the former Irish Steel plant is unrecognisable following a multi million Euro clean up.
The redevelopment of the 22 acre East Tip site was first approved in 2011 following criticism over the scale of dumping that took place on the island.
The park will remain closed to facilitate ongoing works and will open to the public on May 4th.
Speaking to RedFM News, Minister for the Marine, Michael Creed has hailed the transformation at the site.
