Operation Thor Checkpoints Are Helping To Tackle Burglaries In Cork

Gardaí in the West Cork division have stepped up their presence following a spate of break-ins at businesses and petrol stations.
Criminal gangs have been removing CCTV systems from premises as well as cutting ESB cables and phone lines in an effort to avoid detection during robberies.
Gardaí say they have increased the number of both uniform and plain clothes patrols in response to the threat posed by these gangs and are urging business owners to ensure their security systems are up to date.
