OPW Approves Funding For Clonakilty Flood Relief Work

The Office Of Public Works has approved funding for the Clonakilty Flood Relief Scheme.

The project is part of the Governments €430 million Capital Investment Plan for communities at risk from river and coastal flooding.

The Scheme will protect 150 residential and 146 non-residential properties in the West Cork town who have been badly hit by flooding in recent years and left under water a number of times.

Work on the River Fealge t is expected to commence by the end of this year.
