Over 200 women died violently in Ireland since 1996

The figures come from Cork based service Mná Feasa.
211 women have died violent deaths in Ireland over the past 19 years.
That's according to a Cork support service for victims of abusive relationships who say while many incidents of abuse occur at Christmas it's often a quiet time for the service as women are slow to make contact over the festive period.
Earlier this month the issue of domestic violence was raised by a Labour senator who called for housing for domestic violence victims.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show Carol Goulding of Mná Feasa says while their service isn't open over Christmas there is help for those who need it.
