Over 450 people across country waiting on a bed in Emergency Departments

Emergency Departments in Hospitals around the country are experiencing severe overcrowding today.

Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show over 450 people are waiting on trolleys for admission this lunchtime.

Cork University Hospital has 33 people receiving treatment on trolleys and the Mercy University Hospital has 23 patients waiting on a bed.

The INMO says the most overcrowding in the country is at University Hospital Limerick where 54 people are on trolleys and chairs.
