Overcrowding a "year long crisis" according to consultant
A consultant in emergency medicine says hospital overcrowding is a year-long crisis.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says there were over 460 patients on trolleys this morning.
51of those patients awaiting admission are at Cork University Hospital, the Mercy University Hospital and Bantry General Hospital.
Last week saw record levels of more than 600 patients without a bed today - which prompted the HSE to announce a series of measures to alleviate the problem.
