Overcrowding crisis highlighted at Cork University Hospital

A Cork man who's elderly father has been on a trolley in the Emergency Department at Cork University Hospital since Monday has spoken out.

Padraig says his 88 year old father suffers from respiratory problems and has been told he should be in isolation because of his condition.

Cork University Hospital was the most overcrowded hospital in the country yesterday with 61 patients on trolleys and medical staff regulallry have to treat patients in corridors or overflow wards

Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM, Padraig says the majority of patients he has seen on trolleys while visiting his father are elderly.
