Overspend Of Almost €3 million On Two Cork Schools Building Projects
Calls have been made for a review of how public capital projects are managed.
St Angela's College Cork spent over €13 million on a project that was expected to cost €11.4m, while construction at Edmund Rice College in Carrigaline ended up costing €14.6 million- €1.3 million more than expected.
All 15 major school building projects completed since 2010 cost more than the agreed tender price, with the total paid almost €12m over tender.
The release of the figures have led to calls for a review of how public capital projects are managed.
