Painful Memories Of The Tuskar Rock Air Disaster Are Still Felt In Cork

The Aer Lingus Cork to London flight crashed into the sea off Co Wexford 50 years ago on the 24th of March 1968.
A memorial mass is being held at the Church of the Assumption Ballyphehane today at noon to mark the anniversary of the crash.
Curate of the church Fr Eddie Hegarty died alongside several passengers from Cork City and County, as well as 22 year old first Officer Paul Heffernan from Ballintemple.
Parish Priest at Ballyphehane, Fr Michael Murphy knew some of those who died that day.
He told RedFM News that the crash had a devastating impact on families.
