Parents encouraged to start saving for children's college education from the day they're born

Only 49% of parents have a financial plan in place to foot the bill
It's being estimated the cost of funding your child is around 5,000 per year if they're living at home with this cost rising to 10 or 11,000 if they move out of home.
But Eoin McGee, from Prosperous Financial Services, says many plans fall short of the costs and they need to start saving sooner.
