Parents unsure of return date to ASTI secondary school

Several Secondary schools across Cork have issued letters to parents indicating they should not send their children back to school after the mid term.
The Letter outlined the impact of the withdrawal of essential supervision and substitution duties across the school day by ASTI members.
The affected schools advised parents they would not be able to ensure the safety of the pupils in its care because of this directive.
The schools say they do not have enough time to put a contingency plan in place before the 7th of November, and have advised parents to keep their children at home.
Parents of secondary school students across Cork are unsure of how long they will have to keep their children at home.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM this parent says it is not fair on students who are in exams years:
