Parents are being urged to talk openly and honestly to their children about alcohol and their plans for celebrating the end of their State Exams.. 

Drinkaware says few parents seek proper advice on how to talk to their children about alcohol despite the fact that they play a key role in shaping their attitudes  and behaviours towards drink..

The organisation is urging parents to be empowered by this fact and get involved in their child's plans ahead of the end of exams celebrations and set rules for the night out together... 

Speaking to RedFM News Drinkaware's Chief Medical Officer Dr Liam Twomey says parents need to understand the role peer pressure plays on nights such as these
