Passenger numbers continue to grow at Cork Airport ahead of the new summer schedule
It comes as inaugural flights to several new destinations such as Newquay, Zurich and Reykjavik are beginning this month.
Seat sales for the first direct transatlantic service from Cork to Boston Providence are positive, with the first flight scheduled for July.
Passenger growth is expected to continue over the peak summer season, and figures from Cork airport show a 6% increase for the month of April.
Speaking to RedFM News Niall MacCarthy says the airport predicts further growth of up to 5% this summer.
