Passenger Numbers Soar at Cork Airport

Passenger numbers at Cork Airport are soaring ahead of the launch of a new summer route to Madrid.
According to Todays Irish Examiner, the figures are up 10.5% for the first three months of the year.
This comes as 12 new routes were announcement in recent months, and its expected the new Madrid service launching in June will help drive further passenger growth.
Iberia Express is a low cost carrier that will bein a twice weekly service to Madrid from until September.
Efforts are continuing to secure the required US approvals which would clear the way for Norwegian Air’s proposed Cork to Boston service.
The airline also plans to operate a Cork to Barcelona service and a New York service soon after.
