Passengers recount their experience after emergency landing at Cork Airport

A full emergency plan was activated at Cork Airport in the past hour after a Captain on a flight from Birmingham on approach to Cork reported an issue on board...

It's understood the cockpit of the Aer Lingus flight EI3701 from Birmingham was filling with smoke and the plane with 59 passengers and 4 crew on board was forced to make an emergency landing shortly after 10 o'clock this morning 

The emergency plan quickly swung into action and 6 fire brigade units responded to the scene while the gardai were alerted and an emergency corridor from the Airport to Cork University Hospital was established..  

The plane landed safely and Cork Airport issued a statement in the past few minutes confirming that all passengers and crew on board are safe and the emergency has been stood down 

Gwynn George was on board the flight and she told RedFM News that she and her fellow passengers weren't too aware of what was going on
