Patricks Street will be a blaze of colour today

The 12th annual Cork Pride Parade takes to the street

The Parade will signal the end of the week long festival which included family fun days, workshops, culture events and a heartfelt tribute to one of Cork Pride Festival founders Dave Roche who died earlier this year.

Thousands of people from the city and county are expected to attend the parade and it's expected to be one of the largest in the city's history.

Organisers say it reinforces the message that Cork has a strong network of support for the LGBT community.

Speaking to RedFM News Pride Organiser Clive Davis says everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the spectacle
